Dream Home Gym
I have always dreamed of having a home gym - no crowds, no driving to get there, and I can play whatever music that I would like. The following is some of the equipment that I would like for my dream gym. This is by no means a complete list, but contains some of the key pieces.
The foundation of my gym would be the squat rack. Pictured is the Elite Fitness Systems’ 3X3 Classic Rack. I would of course want all of the attachments pictured at the bottom. I think that this rack is solid enough to handle heavy weights and many years of punishment.
Next is the Elite Fitness Systems’ Collegiate 0-90 Bench, which is pictured to the right. Putting the bench inside the rack would allow me to do barbell benchpress, both incline and horizontal.
You need to have weights to do weight lifting, and I would buy the Troy 500lb Olympic Premium Weight Set.
I have always wanted a thick bar for grip training. Performing some lighter weight deadlifts with this bad boy would really help develop the grip strength necessary to do heavy deadlifts with a standad Olympic bar. I would choose the IronMind Apollon’s Axle.
Many of the exercises that I typically do require dumbbells. I like the grey rubber ended dumbbells pictured below, which can be purchased from Elite Fitness Systems.
I think this home gym would allow me to do nearly all of the exercises that I typically do and would last a lifetime. A cable crossover machine would be nice, but that could be added later - plus they are very expensive. Not that this gym wouldn’t be expensive enough already.
Also missing are the cardio machines that I would want. I would really like a treadmill, an elliptical trainer, and a recumbent bike. This would round out the gym and I think would provide enough variety.

So, what do you think? Would anyone like to add something to this gym or maybe list their own dream home gym.

I would also like to own a set of kettlebells. These are great for conditioning and strength endurance training.
Looks damn scary…LOL!

Yeah, it is kind of a beast and squats can be scary in their own right. However, squats and deadlifts are some of the best exercises for muscle building, fat loss, and strength.
